FATHER DOESN'T ALWAYS KNOW BESTWilliam Danforth was adamant. He didn't want a research facility for testing products. His son Donald, who joined the company in 1920, seemed to think such a facility could help maintain Purina's leadership in the feed industry. Donald was patient, but persistent. And by 1926, he had won his case. The Purina Pet Care Center opened, and feeding trials and nutritional studies began. The Purina Pet Care Center is the oldest and largest facility in the world devoted exclusively to pet nutrition and care. The 337-acre facility, located 45 miles southwest of St. Louis, Mo., provides a spacious rural setting where the focus is on raising the benchmark of pet nutrition and pet care through innovative learning and breakthrough advances. |
